This childhood scribble is an actual print ad to promote tourism in NYC and may be one of the worst things this great metropolis has ever spent money on. If this is New York City, even Orlando is looking like a good option. It was created by Manhattan based ad agency BBH and features a parade of poorly translated stereotypical characters including breakdancers, sailors, the Ringling Bros. elephants, a bike messenger and a gay angel, not to mention numerous other caricatures that are by no means welcoming. Come to think of it, maybe this is actually an ingenious ad and will work as a repellent. For us it screams: welcome to NYC, a place where multicultural mobs of freaks clog the streets and consume every bit of breathable space. Fun!
