Amy Hill Unleashes ‘Monster Mash’ This Week
Painting in her signature style derived from Dutch Renaissance painters, Amy Hill is holding an exhibit of new works. “Monster Mash” features a collection of oil paintings that delve into the human psyche:
“Hill has been inspired by early Japenese printmaking and the films of David Kronenberg, depicting images of monsters, aliens and overall deformities. Interested in portraying psychological states, Hill feels that monsters make great metaphors for human doubts and fears in a culture obsessed by the media and the “Extreme Makeover.”
The exhibit opens at McCaig-Welles Rosenthal this Friday and runs through July 8th.
