Herbie Hancock and Spoonie Gee Are ‘Wax Poetics’

Wax Poetics are busy on the grind. After launching their own version of iTunes, the musical obsessors just released Issue 29, featuring two covers: one with the “funky avant-garde” Herbie Hancock and another with old school soothsayer Spoonie Gee, who discusses his original gritty, story telling style:
“It was the first time on wax that a rapper had weaved together a narrative as gritty as a Donald Goines novel. It was a tale of heartbreak, deceit, and revenge. In fact, the main character could’ve been a vixen straight out of a Goines book.”
In addition to the print mag, there’s also the issue based playlist.
