McCain’s Lack of Middle East Geography Borders On Stupidity

After Senator John Sidney McCain III discussed how worried he was about problems in the non-existent country of Czechoslovakia, the hazy Republican presidential hopeful really demonstrated an even greater lack of general geography claiming “I’m afraid it’s a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border,” in an interview on Good Morning America. Unfortunately for the guy with all that experience, those two countries don’t even share a border, in fact, as you can see from the map above, there’s a whole big country called Iran between the two. Making matters worse for McCain, this latest lack of coherency came as the older senator was trying to make a point about Obama’s lack of foreign policy expertise while the Democratic presidential candidate was visiting the area. When you look at an actual map and visually see the vast expanse that is Iran and see how far away Iraq and Pakistan are from each other, it makes you wonder how fit mentally, McCain is, to make any decisions in a region he doesn’t even have an elementary understanding of. |HuffingtonPost|
