Triathlon Cramps Athlete’s Style

This past Sunday was the Nautica New York City Triathlon. The annual event features three phases: a 1,500 meter swim, 40-kilometer bike ride, and a 10K run. The grueling competition takes its toll on the body—one guy even died in this year’s race. But watch as this determined competitor tries to finish the final leg of the running phase despite what appears to be a debilitating leg cramp. He’s only steps from the finish line and tries to walk like a wounded animal, only to flop back down to the pavement, reportedly, crawling to the finish. And women say men could never understand the pain from cramps.
