City Celebrates Riverside Park Renovation With Vandal Magnet

Although graffiti writers traditionally don’t target locomotives, it should be interesting to see how long this 60-year-old engine stays graffiti free. This 95-ton ton train is parked at 62nd street in Riverside Park and as you can see, is quite accessible. Built in 1946, the No. 25 is “identical to engines that moved freight cars along the West Side from the 1940s to the 1980s.” It’s part of phased renovation plan along the Hudson River. |CityRoom|
