Graffiti Couple Arrested

UTAH, a prolific female graffiti writers and her less significant other, ETHER were arrested after coming off a three month bombing run in Europe. The all-country, Queens repping vandal was taken into custody after flying into Chicago by what Newsday simply describes as “authorities.” Really? Who were these authorities (federal, state, local?) and why didn’t the suburban oriented newspaper get a little more specific? It’s an arrest for graffiti, not a threat to national security. Same with ETHER who was arrested when he arrived at JFK. The two were reportedly in “New York Police Department’s book of most notorious taggers,” although it’s still unclear if local cops had anything to do with the bust. One of the two mysterious sources described UTAH as the “number one active female tagger, possibly in the country, definitely in New York.” And judging by all her tags on the streets of NYC—including this one right over an abandoned NECKFACE piece—not to mention a sizable collection on flickr (FYI: you’ll have to weed through because of her name) from all over that distinction isn’t too far off the mark. Graffiti is a form of expression. It is true art because whatever effort you put in it will show the amount of dedication and love you have for that art. Graffiti takes practice and patience. It is the one's who write curse words, gang tags, writing on churches, schools, monuments, cars, neighborhood homes, and graveyards that give a really bad name to the real graffiti writers; which are artists. The graffiti buffers are real vandals and let me explain to you why. When a buffer paints over a graffiti tag or piece, they will paint over it with a chosen color. For example they decide to use gray, then when you look at the color of the wall…its the total opposite; RED! Why do they do that, they just made the building look like a cow as it has gray blobs all over it; SO UGLY. That type of irresponsibility makes a city look ugly. Are these guys color blind because I am pretty sure they have paint that closely resembles my wall. Now to another subject, my city says that they are now cutting back public library hours because money is spent on cleaning graffiti. Later I find out that they are spending millions in the investment on "the art League Of Houston". The art that the ATH make is crap and really expensive. It's a type of art that you or I can make and they sell it in the price of thousands and even millions; it looks like trash. The city is being cheated on buying such worthless pieces of art . Houston News Station channel 13 abc's Wayne Dolcefino's did an investigation on the ATH. The money that the city provided for the public art work display disappeared; most likely into the pockets of those in the league. So i have a message to vandal squad, buffers, and heroes (those who snitch on graff writers)…your not helping at all. Your just feeding a corrupted system. Utah and ether were doing something they really loved. Cops would rather arrest a graffiti writer than a drug dealer, or a rapist because graff writers wouldn't harm you as much as the others would. Heroes think they are helping the community when they dial the phone to get a graffiti writer caught. If someone wrote something on your building, it is your responsibility to paint over it correctly; and it is not that expensive. Would you wait for buffers to come and paint ugly blobs all over your building; well it is up to you if you want to make the city look more ugly. Now lets review. Stop gang graffiti. Get Rid Of The Buffers. Stop the city from practicing wasteful funding. Tell Cops to start catching real Vandals. Tell Cops to Start catching REAL CRIMINALS : drug Dealers, Gang Bangers, Murders, Rapist. And let A REAL COMMUNITY DEAL WITH THE ISSUE OF GRAFFITI. Community service is just like graffiti; whatever effort one puts into it, will show. In conclusion there is a corrupted system in place and for those that say YOUR WRONG JFO27, sorry but the truth hurts; we real graffiti writers are not wrong. I can continue to support my thesis but i think i typed a hell load so I'm going to stop. Graffiti writers are true human beings, we live life to the fullest and no one will stop what we are doing. Oh yea and don't think you can pull off the broken window theory; for those who are against my argument. Because i have statistics and facts to prove against that. Hint: a few days ago i saw a white guy in a suit in the middle of downtown selling drugs from his suit case. A place doesn't need to look dirty for crime to take place.
