‘Defenders’ Shoot Down Sarah Palin’s Aerial Bounty Hunting
Here’s a new ad from the Defenders of Wildlife that attacks Sarah Palin’s wolf killing policy in Alaska and aerial hunting on a whole. You see in Alaska, they chase down and shoot animals from the sky (PDF doc): “Aerial hunting occurs when hunters use airplanes to track an animal in the snow, chase them to exhaustion and shoot them from the air or chase them to exhaustion, land the aircraft and shoot them from the ground.” Back in 2007, Palin offered pilots and gunners “$150 in cash for turning in legs of freshly killed wolves” according to the Anchorage Daily News. The alleged fiscal conservative, also spent $400,000 on a state wide propaganda campaign to convince people that tormenting animals is okay. Technically, along with the pipeline and war in Iraq, it must be God’s will—although you think the almighty creator of the universe would be more adept at balancing out the moose, caribou, and wolf populations.
