The CIA’s Plan To Hijack Airplanes and Terrorize Americans

250_northwood.jpgIf you just can’t bring yourself to believe that President George Bush and his blood thirsty war cronies could be involved in letting the events of 9/11 unfold to rally the citizens under a common cause and set the military industrial complex into overdrive, you might want to read up on “ Operation Northwoods” as outlined in this declassified document: “Justification for U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba.” There couldn’t be a more fitting item to read on the 7th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. Many like to argue that the government just couldn’t be so evil as to attack its own people, but if you read the plan devised by the CIA, it might give you another perspective to the peculiarities surrounding the 9/11 attacks. Keep in mind, Operation Northwoods isn’t some abstract rogue memo or some Pale Horse styled, Illuminati laden conspiracy theory, it’s an actual document (PDF here) that outlines striking American interests. Read about how planes would be hijacked, shot down, and evidence disappeared. ABC news reported on it a few months before September 11th, 2001 and here’s how journalist James Bamford described the shadowy plot in his book Body of Secrets:

“Operation Northwoods, which had the written approval of the Chairman and every member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called for innocent people to be shot on American streets; for boats carrying refugees fleeing Cuba to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington, D.C., Miami, and elsewhere. People would be framed for bombings they did not commit; planes would be hijacked. Using phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on Castro, thus giving Lemnitzer and his cabal the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they needed to launch their war.”

Think about that next time you shoot down theories about WTC’s 1, 2, and 7. Happy 9/11!
