Bad Blood Over Gallery’s Decision To Buy Sculpture
The state funded National Portrait Gallery, which counts portraits of exceptional British figures in its collection, has pissed off some pundits and art critics over a controversial decision to purchase Marc Quinn frozen head sculpture that was made from 10 pints of the artist’s blood. The piece, first showcased as part of those Young British Artists exhibits, is valued at £350,000 or what amounts to a little over $600,000. |ArtObserved|
