Fake Testimonial Ads That Don’t Bug (Sorry) Me

BROS1.jpg
Well, this makes two days in a row that I’ve not hated something. Don’t bet on the streak reaching three. The fake testimonial is one of the most devious and reprehensible of advertising lies. For example, recently locally: Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s fake cancer patients, and Waldbaum’s fake little ladybug-loving model girl. Advertisers do this shit because getting actual customers to shill for them in ads is a pain in the ass. Plus, their stories are usually boring. Anyway, I applaud this cute fake testimonial campaign for Bros mosquito repellent out of Poland because the line is so humorously inarguable. Does it give me a reason to buy Bros over other brands? No. But it’s memorable and puts a smile on my face. And most importantly, it doesn’t fake sell me. Even the twerpy hate-everything students who comment regularly on Ads Of The World had not one negative word to write about the campaign. Jump for two more executions featuring a fed-up mosquito-wife and a bloodsucking door-to-door sales-insect.
