Sex in alcohol ads is of course tried and true and nothing new. But lately, the implied sex has seemed a bit…desperate. Belvedere’s “rebirth of luxury” campaign shot by Terry Richardson and featuring bug-eyed angry film maker Vincent Gallo got all blow jobby by showing a woman applying her lipstick in the reflection of Gallo’s big, thick belt buckle. Skyy vodka has recently produced ads with ball-sucking phallicism and mile-high interracial sapphic sky sex. And now here, with a new series of billboards on Houston St. @ Broadway, Remy Martin—as part of its “things are getting interesting” campaign—one ups Skyy by adding some light, love-chain S&M to the black and white lesbianism. This trend is, of course, all the fault of interracial terrorist heathen Barack Obama.
