250_StreetArtMain.jpgThe Gotham Gazette’s Lenore Costello gave her best shot trying to make sense of the graffiti game, but basically just rehashes most of the vandalistic art form’s well known and circulated idiosyncracies that don’t really add much to the discussion. Luckily there was at least an entertaining quote from BG183 of the TATS Cru—who in all fairness paints mostly legal and commercial walls—pointing out some of the the stark differences between graffiti and street art:

“Street art will only hit certain areas – rich areas– next to museums or galleries where people with money will see and notice it. They don’t go to tunnels, or the side of a highway. They won’t risk getting caught.”
