In case you missed the closing of Blake Ward’s “Fragments” exhibit last week at Chelsea Towers—that featured mutilated torso sculptures intended to foster dialog about unexploded landmines—here’s what you missed. Each piece was made out of bronze and named after a different unexploded ordinance from his experiences in mostly Vietnam. Although the work is inspired by his work in war torn countries from more than 20 years ago, with the war in Iraq soon to be reaching a 30,000 US soldiers wounded milestone, this exhibit resounds a lot louder. Here’s the whole collection of hacked up bronzes. |Chelsea Now|
