With a country soon to inaugurate its first black president, it’s interesting to note how far we’ve really come as a nation, commercials for toothpaste included. After Brown vs. Board of Ed, the countless freedom marches, and Rosa Parks’ bus riding activism, Crest toothpaste was at the front lines fighting cavities and racism. This commercial from the 1960s features two black teenagers, which was unheard of in the whitewashed Leave It To Beaver 1950s. |flickr/Bobster1985|
