Although the media loves to report on these benchmark numbers don’t expect any anchors to be heading back to Baghdad anytime soon—Iraq being a non-story and all. Luckily, Cheney reminded grieving families that their kids are the ones that signed up in the first place, “[W]e are fortunate to have a group of men and women, the all-volunteer force, who voluntarily put on the uniform and go in harm’s way for the rest of us.” Comments like this make the shooting targets seem relevant all over again. |AP|
