Harlem Streets Turned Into Shooting Gallery

Ten people were wounded in Harlem yesterday. Six of them during a “wild shooting spree near a Memorial Day barbecue last night at Marcus Garvey Park,” including a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl. A mother of an 18-year-old victim who called her to tell her what happened, describes the realities of the mean streets: “I hear about this s–t all the time and I never pictured it being my son,” she said. “But this is New York, and this is Harlem.” |NYDN|
