Japan’s Legally Decorated Trains

The very thought of art on trains makes the MTA shutter—they did provide the rolling canvasses that made NYC’s subway graffiti possible in the first place—but in Japan, they embrace it, as long as its sanctioned. Pictured here is a Cyborg 009 train on the Senseki line. It features the work of local manga and anime artist named Shinomori Shōtarō.
