Usually when a magazine hires an established pro photographer with an impressive portfolio, they expect flattering images and portrayals that make the subject look better than they would in real life. And that’s just what shutterburg Jill Greenberg did for the political mag, The Atlantic, delivering a “heroic” cover shot of John Sidney McCain III just like the publication requested. However, the admitted heavy-left-leaning agitator, also tricked the senile senator into a poorly lit trap of bad lighting for a series of images she shot and then later published on her website. In addition to the shadowy sinister photos she took of the “Maverick,” Greenberg also Photoshopped a few of the photos that show the lie-heavy Republican candidate as as a blood splattered warmonger, lipsticked adulterer, and a yellow toothed cunt-calling misogynist. Although pundits are already lashing out against her “unprofessional” behavior—including the Atlantic editor who wrote the cover story— Greenberg is adamantly unapologetic, telling PDN it’s the magazine’s fault for not properly vetting her. “Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for them [The Atlantic] to hire me.”
