Media Rehashes Old Weed Story

Although the story about the NYPD busting way too many people for herb—especially when it comes to blacks and Hispanics—was discussed back in 2007, countless media outlets are basically re-reporting the same findings of Queens College sociologist Harry Levine wholesale. According to a so called “new report” (PDF) released by the NYCLU, the city still maintains the “Marijuana Arrests Capitol” of the world title. The number of arrests are still upwards of 400k for bullshit amounts of chron with minorities continuing to get charged at exponentially higher rates than whites.
