250_crazyman_taser.jpgCould the NYPD not come up with a better resolution to a cornered naked man on a precarious ledge swinging a fluorescent light tube than tasering the guy and watching him fall to his death? The guy was obviously mentally disturbed and this public display should serve as a case study for why police should not respond to emergencies that would be better handled by mental health professionals—we should do the same with the country’s drugs problems. Plus, whatever happened to those dudes all dressed in white that would show up in a ice cream truck and haul the crazies away like in old school Looney Tune cartoons?
