Tagline: “There’s nothing wrong with a little shooting as long as the right people ge shot.” Talk about horribly ironic ad placement. This poster for the De Niro/Pacino NYC cop stinker, which opened in London last Thursday, hangs in the station where gung-ho plain clothes Metropolitan police officers unrighteously shot Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes dead. The incident of “mistaken identity” occurred on July 22, 2005, one day after the failed tube and bus terrorist bombings. In a delay of justice that would make our red tape-wrapped city proud, the inquiry of the shooting is just starting this week. Unlike with emotionally-disturbed Inman Morales, tasers may have saved Menezes’s life. Click through for the photographic proof of the poster’s location.
