Every once and while someone tries to explain the loss of New York’s influence in Hip Hop. Are the beats to blame? This guy thinks so and believe it has something to do with not be able to parlay the music into ringtones: “New York beats are more head-nodding backdrops for intricate rhyme schemes than they are catchy ringtone fodder for teenyboppers.
