This morning a tipster sent in this note, slightly before 9am:

“I work in the NY Times building and a store front right across the street (facing the building), has a big sticker stencil lettering in the window: “The Assassination of Hillary Clinton. The Assassination of Barack Obama.” Then there is the name of some Arabic group in small lettering in the corner. The word “Assassination” is in red lettering too. The store itself is empty, and has “Available Space” across the top. There are a bunch of cops there now and tourists taking pictures. The cops said they are going to charge the owner with ‘domestic terrorism.'”

We were waiting for an image and some sort of confirmation which the City Room has provided. The exhibit by Yazmany Arboleda was shut down at 9:30am by secret service agents and NYPD detectives. Before he was hauled away by cops, he left a reporter with this: “It’s art. It’s not supposed to be harmful. It’s about character assassination — about how Obama and Hillary have been portrayed by the media.” |CityRoom| Update: more information on the exhibit, visuals included.
