As you may have heard or more likely seen—the media is loving this wrestling clip—Stephan Miller, cousin to Hollywood animal trainer Randy Miller, was recently mauled by the Rocky the bear. The 700lb. grizzly appeared in the lukewarm sports comedy “Semi Pro” starring Will Ferrell and was was trained to pretend attack for movies, TV, and photo shoots but decided to chew into Miller’s neck instead of the treat it’s accustomed to. With the website’s bandwidth stretched to the limit, we used the Way Back Machine and pulled out this image of “Stevie Miller” being mock attacked by a very big cat for an Animal Planet special. But the powerful feline mounted on top is not the shocking part, it’s his job title for a dangerous job like this: “Site Webmaster and part time Animal Trainer / Stunt Man.” Even when it comes to full timer and more experienced trainer Randy Miller, wild animals have this thing about biting humans as evidenced by this clip of him helping the Discovery Channel recreate the Roy Horn mauling. Watch as the tiger starts going at Randy like he’s a human-sized meat popsicle and he has to punch the cat in the face (2:25 mark) to get it to chill. Moral of the story: this job sucks, full or part time.
