250_waterboard3_540.jpgSteve Powers, formerly the talented artist known as ESPO, took his Waterboard Thrill Ride from mere exhibition to carnie-styled performance art on Friday night when he and a team of lawyers mildly subjected themselves to the slow drowning technique: “In a private room at Coney Island, with an audience of artists, journalists, friends and family, former Army interrogator Mike Ritz roughly stuffed a towel into his victims’ mouths, one by one, and poured water until they struggled.” Please let there be a video of this. NPR was there too and has audio, but unfortunately there’s no actual gurgling sounds. |WaPost|
