nyc_aerial_.jpgThanks to a smarty pants urban planner, NYC has been remeasured and is technically 17 square miles smaller, reducing the five boroughs from it’s official size of 322 square miles to 304.8. To put that into perspective, the NYT provides this handy comparison: “17 square miles could accommodate 13 more Central Parks, nearly a third of Washington, D.C., about three dozen versions of Vatican City and nearly two dozen replicas of Monaco.” Out of all the boroughs though, it Brooklyn lost the most, being reduced from 72 square miles to 82. |NYT|
