lede250_lirrderailment.jpgThe commuter train system responsible for carting cushy suburbanites in and out of the city has experienced a derailment at Jamaica Station around 10AM this morning. Two eastbound trains were involved in a minor collision, that forced some of the “cattle cars” off the tracks. Although the NYC Fire Department is reporting at least 20 minor injuries, according to the LIRR’s website: “There are no reported injuries as a result of the derailment.” Delays of about an hour are expected on all trains.
