Whale Song Heard for 1st Time In NYC Waters

With all the pollution pumping out of the city, it’s pretty amazing that any kind of marine animal, let alone whales could make it anywhere close to the city, but scientists announced successful recordings “from endangered fin, humpback and North Atlantic right whales in waters surrounding New York City.” The bioacoustics program uses digital recording gear and devices were placed “13 miles from the entrance to New York Harbor and off Fire Island.” |IthacaJournal|
