Arrested last year for painting a whole car on British Transport, a German graffiti writer was scolded by the judge and only charged $2000. While it’s true that “this sentence sends out the clear message that vandalism and criminality on the rail network in Scotland will not be tolerated,” it seems remarkably light compared to New York where similar crimes regularly put people in prison. |Press and Journal|

‘Kanye Webst Week’ Comes To A Close

After a stellar showing of Yeezy rant technology on Friday, Kanye Webst Week wrapped up with a strong finish this weekend. Free Art & Technology showed us to a new online tool for putting “Where Are You Yeezy?” speech bubbles not just on attractive ladies as Kanye does, but any photo, even terrorists. After that, we heard Minimal Bling, a wholly unlistenable album of Kanye tracks attacked by iRedux, “an automated system that, by destroying your audio files, creates original ambient music.” Finally, the week of Kanye 2.0 closed with the ultra slow and depressing E-Kan-Omic Crisis.

Sotheby’s Porn Sale

Tomorrow, Sotheby’s is holding a ‘Photographs’ sale in London and it might be a good time for art collectors to take advantage of the thoroughly depressed art market. dov-charney-woody-allen-settle

Earlier this morning, American Apparel settled a $5 million lawsuit with Woody Allen for a series of billboards that depicted the pint-sized filmmaker without his permission. This comes after months spent preparing a holey defense that the Allen’s scandalous marriage had sullied his image too much to be worth the damages he sued for.
