Miles Aldridge Shows ‘Pictures for Photographs’

Saturated and sometimes sickly colors compose the photographs of Miles Aldridge, a London-based fashion photographer. At the end of the month, Steven Kasher Gallery in Chelsea will open “Pictures for Photographs,” an exhibition of 20 oversize photos by the artist and a celebration of the publication of his book by the same name. Miss Bugs Mixes ‘Dirty Art’ and Politics

Keith Haring, Faile, D*Face, and Shepard Fairey are among the artists collaged into these new works by Miss Bugs. The 42 piece series features the image-makers signature combination of collaged and layered stencils and silk screens, all on a background of aluminum panels painted with Fairey’s presidential Hope portrait. A new study suggests that smoking weed doesn’t necessarily increase the risk of head and neck cancer as previously suggested, but that doesn’t mean puffing like Bob Marley is healthy either, since the “prevalence of frequent marijuana smoking was low in most of the contributing studies, we could not rule out a moderately increased risk, particularly among subgroups without exposure to tobacco and alcohol.” |MPP|
