It sucked to be a marsupial in the “land down under” this week. First there was this poor thing, who was hopping around for days with an arrow in its head. The animal was eventually found, operated on, and is expected to fully recover. Then there’s this story about a drowning roo that was in danger of being devoured by sharks, but was saved by a surfer. In another extremely lucky turn of events, thousands of kangaroos were spared from slaughter when animal rights activists sued to stop a government sponsored cull and were given a temporary reprieve.
