Bravo Casting For Sarah Jessica Parker’s Art Reality Show
Have you ever wondered how to go from being a “struggling, emerging or even semi-established artist to selling a complete show for $198 million?” Bravo says they might be able to help you with their new artist-based reality competition to win a “gallery show, a cash prize and a sponsored national tour,” whatever that means.
Created by Sarah Jessica Parker’s Pretty Matches Productions with Magical Elves, the producers of “Project Runway” and “Top Chef,” The Untitled Art Project is looking for 13 “contemporary artists” who “believe in their art and want the world to know.” Casting begins next month in Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and New York at White Columns on July 18th and 19th. But first you have to fill out the 23-page application and contract which asks among other things:
Have a girlfriend?
Have a boyfriend?
Do you have any rules you live by?
What are your feelings about the relationship between the commercial and art worlds? For instance, what if a branded corporation wanted to use your art in their advertising; discuss your perspective.
Describe your most embarrassing moment… (And/or describe what you wish were your most embarrassing moment.)
What makes you nervous?
Were you ever the subject of any disciplinary proceedings or actions in the military?
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor?
Have you ever had a temporary restraining order issued against you or has anyone ever attempted to obtain a temporary restraining order against you?
Have you ever been convicted of any crime of reckless or drunk driving?
Have you ever done or been involved in anything that would cause the Program producer and/or the cable network and affiliates that may exhibit the Program any embarrassment or monetary loss if you are chosen to participate in the Program?
Have you ever created a website or posted any materials on any website (e.g., MySpace, Facebook, etc.)?
All these questions are crucial for determining whether artist applicants have the skills and personal drama to make the show commercially viable. Don’t forget the part where you sign over all rights to the artwork in your application either.

I want to be on this show.

PICK ME.
are they casting in san francisco?
You’ve got to make the trek to L.A.
I want to be part of this …. If ever there is someone who should be seen and heard in the art word “C’est Moi.”
If I wanted to be famous, I would kill somebody important. I want my sculptures to be world renowned So participating in a reality television show would be a jump start to world recognition. I am a dead sexy high school drop out who’s trapped in the body of a young greek god. I never studied art but can pin together stone in a fashion that makes everyone smile. As for other mediums I like varnish more than paint because it highlights the natural beauty of an organic material. Industrial design well that is like traditional sculpting start with everything and remove everything that is not necessary, don’t forget to recycle it. Photography: well here is a skill, All those buttons, levels, and developing, if standing waist deep in water waiting for every ripple and speck of dust to get out of the reflection of a piece I am trying to shoot is an art, so be it. I am creative and know what I want to capture on film. people can see it so its good. I read about the call for wanna bee’s in the paper today…..SO…. I wanna be.

Instead of being all about me and bennys (money) like most artists seem to be, I am starting an artist charity network with a good friend. I figure we can at least try to do some good and help deserving people at the same time as other artists.
Want to learn more?? contact myself at my web site email address. We have 80 artists on board and FOUR charitys!

It was most cruel to have us fill out the 23 page application just for the audition. They should only give it to the people who get past the judges with their portfolios. I invested so much time in it. It wasn’t a bad experience, but all that work filling out the application was for nothing. I doubt anyone even looked at it since the judges did not move me to the next level.
What ever happened to this show? Did it get produced or is it being produced?
