When warned about the dangers of eating fish from New York City waterways, one Bronx fisherman remarked, “If it was poisonous, they’d put up a sign.” Turns out they, being the Parks department, did, two years ago. But of the “hundreds” of signs installed, the Daily News only managed to find one illegible plaque alerting the public to the consequences of eating the PCB and mercury laden fish. |NYDN|
