Mack Trucks is hoping to entice New York City into their new line of diesel-electric hybrid “refuse” vehicles and gave the Department of Sanitation one for a test drive. The “green” garbage trucks reportedly “burn up to 30 percent less fuel” and emit lower levels of toxic shit than previous models. Neat factoid: the city routinely purchases up to 300 trucks a year from Mack at about $100K a pop. |TMC|
