Berserk Cyclist Uses Bike Lock On Dude’s Face

Shot recently at the corner of Delancey and Allen streets in Manhattan, this violent video depicts the aftermath of an apparent crash between a cyclist and an older man—who looks like he was walking. Instead of parting ways, the two began duking it out in the street. Brutally, the bicyclist whales the older man in the head with a u-lock until he starts bleeding and walks away in pain, clutching his face. The camera man describes the exchange firsthand: Read more »

After the fiasco that was the Arnell Group’s attempt at giving Tropicana a design facelift, the brand has all but washed away the creative group’s influence. Except for this Trop50 that “is the only product left that uses a splash of some of the design elements.” |VisualCulture|

Stella McCartney’s New Hunter-Porn Ad

stella-mccartney_disney

Having survived a monstrous forest fire, Disney’s Bambi lives on to help noted vegan Stella McCartney sell her special brand of fur-friendly fashions this Fall/Winter. I honestly don’t have a fucking clue how animated woodland creatures will help McCartney sell clothing, but I do love the tension in the ad; by which I mean, well, that bored-looking fox would viciously devour the cute little fawn and all his friends, especially meaty plump Thumper, getting blood all over Sigrid Agren, the even more bored-looking model. That’s a layout I’d like to see. The campaign was shot by Ryan McGinley, who lensed the worst jeans ads ever created—the French “We Are Animals” Wrangler campaign. |Image: All The Rage/LA Times|

Not surprisingly, completion of the Second Avenue subway, a work in progress for nearly forty years, will be delayed once again. At this point, the first phase of the project may not open until 2017 and the final stage likely wrapping up in the 2020s. |NYDN|

Sites like NDTV or this Japanese one will be broadcasting the natural blackout live beginning at 8:24PM EST—first point of contact—so that the rest of us can share in the collective terror that has grasped the primitively superstitious.

ZEVS Caught in Hong Kong After Arrest

After his arrest last week, Parisian street artist ZEVS will be hanging out in Hong Kong for a while. The logo liquidator’s court case, for pouring black paint over a Chanel sign on the city’s Chater House, is adjourned until August according to the South China Morning Post. ZEVS was out of jail in time for his show opening at Art Statements Gallery, including an “anti-climatic” performance in which a “model sat down and bared her back as ZEVS dripped white paint on her with a syringe.” However, with paint damage estimated at $860 thousand, authorities are holding his passport, keeping him close by and forcing him to cancel a project in New York. After the jump, a video profile filmed just prior to his arrest. Read more »

Taxpayers Will Continue To Pay for Dick Cheney’s Safety

After a media blitz of misinformation touting the merits of torture, Dick Cheney has gone back into hiding. Is the the icy former vice president scared of an investigation probing his secret hit squad program that he ordered the CIA to lie to Congress about? Maybe. Or the soul snatching Republican could be facing actual, real world threats. He asked for an extension of secret service protection and President Obama agreed, signing off on the request. Normally, the outgoing vice president is provided with a six month detail, while the president gets a full decade. But does Cheney really need it? If he shoots his friend in the face, can you image what he would do to his enemies? |NYDN|
