ZEVS Arrested For Vandalizing Luxury Brand Logo

zevs-arrested-over-liquidated-chanel-sign-01Parisian street artist ZEVS was arrested yesterday after “liquidating logos” in Hong Kong, where he’s opening a solo show this week. Apparently his cleaning crew disguise wasn’t enough to stop a bystander from calling the cops after seeing the artist pour black paint on a Chanel storefront logo. At this point, it’s not clear whether ZEVS, or the two others arrested, will be released in time for the Thursday opening at Art Statements Gallery . It’s also unclear why Dominique Perregaux, the gallery owner, “did not understand why police had arrested the artist” for vandalizing other people’s property, although it was water-based paint. |SCMP|

  1. Don't mess with Hong Kong.

N.Y. S.F. L.A. Paris Milan, You would have been a hero.

Freakin' Hong Kong???…no no no no.

  2. The title and quote in your page from the scmp.com is a misleading fabrication. Here is the link to the original scmp.com article which only quote a police woman saying that ZEVS and two other men have been arrested for "alleged vandalism". This is the only time when the term "vandalism" is used.

In your misquoted piece you also made me saying that I did not understand why ZEVS has been arrested for "vandalizing other people's property". This is again pure fabrication and I would appreciate if you could post original articles without re-editing them. Legitimizing your re-edited piece refering them to their original sources is a very manipulative and dubvious practice, to say the least.

  3. I would therefore appreciate the withdrawal of your fabricated piece or an amendment stating correctly the original article from scmp.com

Dominique: The facts are all correct according to that article and the quote isn't misattributed directly to you.
