Rep. Alan Grayson Offers His Interpretation of the Republican Health Plan
Last night a freshman Democratic congressman from Florida, Rep. Alan Grayson, stepped up to the microphone on the floor of the House of Representatives and offered up his interpretation of the Republican’s alternative to President Obama’s heath care proposals. He broke the plan down into three points: 1) Don’t get sick, 2) And if you do get sick…, 3) Die quickly.
Yep, that sounds about right:

While the health reform plan is a decent plan worth supporting, these sorts of theatrics do little more than aggravate the existing poor interactions between the Democrats and Republicans rather than try to garner some support from those Republicans that might be amenable to voting towards the bill. The more polarization that takes place, the more pressure there will be for these Republicans to vote on party lines in opposing the health reform plan.
Quite frankly I think the Dems have tried very hard to keep quiet and not buy into the theatrics that the Reps are they themselves creating. Sometimes the dam overflows and you get someone who’s sick of listening to people create reasons to not support the American people. I find it sick that the people who have the biggest problem with healthcare reform are the people that have insurance and don’t have any health issues. Try it on this side of the fence for a while and see how it feels to be punished for getting sick.
