Jewels for Jesus

After embellishing countless human skulls with Swarovski crystals, Quinn Gregory has completed his biggest work to date: a life-sized crucifix. The sculptor spent nearly five months building the Jesus piece and another ten covering it will nearly a quarter-million Swarovski crystals. Gregory explains the process for his “Infinite Hope” sculpture: “Through research, I learned that Jesus was 5’3″ tall (which made him actually a tall Jewish man at that time). I used cooper tubing to make his 5’3” skeleton and then built from there.” The radiant display is currently view at Open Concept Gallery in Grand Rapids, Michigan where it’s contending for $500k from the city’s Art Prize competition.

The Spider Man Lizard is the Must-Have Pet of the Season

The Telegraph reports that comic book fans have been flocking to exotic pet shops to purchase the rock agama lizard, also known as the “Spider Man lizard” for its vivid red and blue colors and its ability to scale walls. It’s for England’s National Health Service as part of a two-month campaign targeting men 35-55 in Birmingham East and North—apparently an area with a high concentration of smokers. The spot ends with an ominous raspy male v/o intoning, “Smoke, and your body takes a beating. Fight back. Quit now.” Well, at least you get to see some violence with the preaching. New MacArthur Geniuses Announced

They will receive $100,000 per year for the next five years so they can focus on their respective arts without having to worry about money.
