Hey remember Peter Braunstein, the deranged former Women’s Wear Daily writer/editor/sex fiend who posed as a fireman to rape a Chelsea woman he was obsessing over in 2005? Well, he occasionally writes long, unhinged diatribes to the New York Post, and a recent one contains a doozy of a revelation: his anticipation for season three of Gossip Girl is just about the only thing keeping him from killing himself in prison! Although Brooklyn is all the rage according to the UK’s Daily Mail, the paper describes how some New Yorkers view the famed borough: “To die-hard Manhattanistas, it is solely the route to JFK Airport.” Actually that would be Queens! |DailyMail|
The World’s Highest Stake Piggyback Ride
After a mission, the space shuttle routinely lands at Edwards Air Force Base in California and is flown back to Florida. Amazingly, the 200,000 pound orbiter is affixed to the top of a specially-fitted 747 making it quite the spectacle. Here’s some photos of Discovery in Texas, one of several refueling stops on its $1.8 million flight back East.

One of the benefits of live TV are moments like this. This afternoon, MSNBC’s Brian Mooar attended the thoroughly right wing “Values Voters” Conference where issues like “countering the homosexual agenda” and “fighting the vast left wing conspiracy” are being discussed, when audience members asked him to leave. Unimpressed with the whole freedom of speech concept, security had to intervene after several attendees demanded he move his news reporting operation outside. Reminiscent of the illegal ads covering vacant storefronts around the city, every surface from floor to ceiling is covered with Kruger’s bold black and white vinyl slogans. The collage artist’s installation, commissioned by real estate mogul Aby Rosen, is on view in the lobby of 390 Park Avenue. |16 Miles of String|

So…that old weed in the spare tire trick? Probably not a good idea. Customs and Border Protection found compressed dirt weed during a routine traffic inspection at a California checkpoint. Agents say they seized approximately 30 lbs. of the Mexican brick, which should make a whole lot of people who were looking forward to smoking crap very unhappy. |CPB|
The mostly meaningless Obama-Joker image was effective, but much to innocuous for the current racially tinged debate on health care that even 80-year-old white southern men are complaining about. So it was only a matter of time before a much more offensive depiction would emerge. Meet Obama the socialist witch doctor. Fun! |CNN|
