Reading Into “Piecebook Reloaded”

piecebook1Following up last year’s release, “Piecebook: The Secret Drawings of Graffiti Writers,” CHINO and Sacha Jenkins are publishing another collection of old school blackbook drawings. Titled “Piecebook Reloaded,” the new release picks up where they left off, featuring practice illustrations, sketches and outlines from 1985 to 2005 by notorious graffiti writers including COPE 2, CYCLE, GHOST, JONONE and REAS. Selected and scanned from many sketchbooks, the pieced pages have reassembled like a true blackbook. “When possible we scanned both sides of the illustrations so we could print the ink bleed through on the backside of the page,” says CHINO. Like its previous incarnation, the book also comes stocked with blank pages so people can add their own work. Published by Prestel USA, “Piecebook Reloaded” will be available in early October, but you can preview some pages after the jump. Read more »

Having you paying attention to any of the coverage of the security crackdown at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh? Because these people, whoever they are, ain’t playing around!
