That Amazingly Consistent Obama Smile
This week the Obama’s hosted a reception at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for important foreign people in town for the conference at the UN. During the course of the reception, the Barack and Michelle Obama posed for over 130 photos. My friend Eric Spiegelman pulled the photos from the State Department’s Flickr page and compiled this 20 second video of each one flashing by. Watch the video below as our president’s smile barely moves throughout the entire series, almost like he’s a cardboard cutout or something.

that was the funniest thing.
He is a fake just like his smile!!
That’s creepy…very creepy. Don’t make him happy…you won’t like him happy.
Watch Michelle too. Her body may move, but her smile is consistantly the same as well.
i suspect that when you have to take as many photos as he does, you end up with a “canned smile”. doesn’t mean you’re not sincere, just means you have to develop a coping mechanism when you are so often required to be “on”.
Look at all the other photos hes taken here and overseas. That is how President Obama smiles fully. He is that happy to share each and every moment. He likes to make not just the subject know he felt good about sharing the shot, but he likes to make the photographer’s work easy. Which photographer wouldn’t like him. He is cooperative!
I say they used a wax figure! LOL and everyone went along with it!
I would bet if anybody put a collage of anyone’s posed pictures (your wedding, perhaps?), the same smile would be in every picture. It’s the nature of posed pictures.

its easy to show consistency when you use the same photo for each edit. he probably is full of shit but this isn’t proof.
You mean the man looks the same in multiple photos? How.. astonishing. How very very astonishing.
And he wears the same suit and tie for every meeting he has!!! Doubt it.

Of course it’s a fake smile. How can you smile when you are criticized for everything you do. Today on CNN a Rep. spokesperson said he was going to Copenhagen to get the olympics to pay back his cronies in Chicago who supported him. If he didn’t go, she would be saying that he doesn’t care. He’s told “we don’t want a government run health care system but don’t touch my medicare”. We don’t want government regulation but fix the banking, insurance and housing problems.We don’t want socialism, but where are my extended unemployment benefits”. If I was President you’d all be getting my middle finger instead of a smile.

Thank goodness its not McCain! Amen! I’ll second that. Although if any one of those other people in the poses were repeatedly photographed in this session they probably would all look the same too. It’s still a riot. Kind of like Alfred E. Obama, always the same grin.
