Although they’ve never endorsed him before, all of the five police unions are throwing their support behind Bloomberg, the candidate most likely to win. If you needed the mayor’s money, wouldn’t want to be on the winning team? |CityRoom|

Poster Boy Is Conflicted

Not much has been heard from Poster Boy since his New Jersey art gallery takeover, until now. The ad-altering artist recently submitted to an interview and discussed his conflicted efforts to be both an artist and a movement. Read more »

Behold, the Most Horsesh*t ‘News’ Story in the History of Journalism

Earlier today, as I plowed through my extensive collection of bookmarked online information sources, I made my daily stop (Well, not really) over at Hudson, New York’s Register Star, the newspaper serving the fine folks up in Dutchess and Columbia counties, where apparently it’s a painfully slow news day. Apple’s New Mouse Gives AMAZING Handjobs

Today Apple introduced its “Magic Mouse” to the world, a sleek-looking wireless and ballless tool (Just like many American politicians!) that looks sort of like a stingray or some sort of alien vessel when viewed from the side. The mouse, which retails for $69 and comes standard with the purchase of any new iMac, also features a multi-touch panel like that of the iPhone and iPod Touch, so users can scroll a webpage by simply sliding their fingers across the surface. Just precious! |Gizmodo|

US To Battle Pirates With Drones

The Republic of Seychelles announced that the U.S. is providing drones to help fight against the ever vigilant Somali pirates, who have been very busy as of late. Although the country’s foreign ministry won’t divulge when or how many UAVs they received, a spokesman for the U.S. Africa Command said they’ll have the resources to fly at least one sortie daily over the more than 100 islands that make up the archipelago nation in the Indian Ocean. But unlike their super deadly counterparts in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., these Skynet-style robopilots won’t be armed. |MSN|

Brooke Shields Child Porn Could Cost Tate $500k

A photo of Brooke Shields posing nude at age 10 could cost the Tate Modern a cool half a mil if the catalogs printed for its ‘Pop Life’ exhibition can’t be sold. Fearing more protests if they release the catalog with Shield’s preteen pose, museum’s publishing wing is facing the prospect of dumping 12,000 printed copies, according to the Telegraph. In the meantime, the Tate has taken the “temporary measure” of selling the catalog with the offending photo censored with a sticker until legal experts decide what to do, but you can see it in all its pervy glory after the jump. |Telegraph| Read more »

Animals Used to Illustrate Human Evils

Through careful animal effigies, Beth Cavener Stichter encourages viewers to consider the uncomfortable, dark side of the human condition: “child abuse, pornography, self loathing, and insecurity.” In an upcoming solo exhibition at Chelsea’s Claire Oliver gallery, the artist is exhibiting these anthropomorphic sculptures, including goats, hares and hounds getting it on, roasted and otherwise screwed. “On Tender Hooks” opens October 22nd and is on view through December 5th at 513 West 26th Street.

Emile Hirsch’s Girlfriend Suddenly Bashful

Brianna Domont posed naked for Jacques magazine back in July, but now she’s suddenly stricken with a case of stage fright, it seems. One of her lawyers sent us a strongly-worded email demanding that photos we re-published from the Jacque shoot be removed. According to the artsy erotic mag’s EIC, Danielle Luft, Ms. Domont’s lawyers are just firing off emails for the sake of firing off emails and while they did temporarily pull her pics off the web, they do plan on re-posting them because, you know, fuck the lawyers. The veiled legal threats are especially odd considering how much Ms. Domont appears to love being naked. Remember what Brianna said during the shoot: Read more »
