Science? has done some elementary maths and revealed themselves to be an idiot.

You clearly have no idea how chemistry works, do you?

Burning a carbon based fuel takes carbon from the fuel tanks of the plane and fixes it with two oxygen atoms from the air. Oxygen atoms have an atomic weight of 16, carbon 12. For every 1 gram of carbon you get 3.7 grams of CO2. Fuel is a mixture of carbon and hydrogen, but in weight is almost all carbon (hydrogen has an atomic weight of 1). So a plane with about 50 tonnes of fuel on board emits, wait for it... 166.5 tonnes of CO2.

A "ton" of CO2 represents the equivalent refrigeration value of a "ton" of ice for 24 hours, not the mass of CO2.

A 747-400, standard trans-oceanic airplane, carries 416 passengers in a 3-class cabin and has an empty weight of 178,800 kg. 416 polar bears at 400kg weighs 166,400 kg. So, every trans-oceanic flight produces almost its own mass in CO2?

This is new-science for gullible people who failed science but want to "feel" like smart people.
