I don't exactly know what he's made,but I like his dedication to whatever he's harpin on.
Atleast he gives some input to follow or use to check things out for yourself.

I am not a partisan, and never read these blurb/blog sites, but I just read this one. As an objective observer, I am wondering why the liberal side of commentary is so angry and gouging. They should be happy as clams just because they have the House, the Senate and the White House. Have the debate if you like….but boy oh boy… such visceral anger says something…. and it's probably not good. I wonder if any of the anger emanates from the reality of all the collateral damage done since January…and they just can't release the pressure in any other way. I find the best thing to do is breath in…. admit that you voted in a way that made you feel good about yourself…as good humanitarians… and come to grips with the reality that American is changed forever now. That person would have paid maybe 5,000 to 7,000 dollars a year for government health care. If that person goes to jail then we have to pay 31,900 dollars a year for him or her to stay there.

Hey April, It's Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). Not ASFAB like some show on comedy central. So if you are going to down on someone's typos, make sure you don't have any. Also, my father served your country as a radio operator in the Marines during Vietnam (glorified "infanyman") and is now the CEO of two successfull businesses. Please don't say "all" when there are exceptions to every rule and the fact that those STUPID "infanymen" are the ones willing to lay their lives down for your freedom.
1) Jon, Thank you for your service. I too took the oath, was subject to UCMJ, and was a ground pounder (in the "light" infantry).
2) I didn't serve in Iraq, I don't have combat experience over there; but that does not preclude me from having a clue. Sometimes it is easier to see the forest from the outside than from within, though both views are necessary.
3) I agree that we, as a people, need to return to civility (anyone remember that word?). That respectful, public discourse about politics is possible even among those of opposing views.
4) Hate to break this to you, but there are a lot of people who got laid off in 2008 (or earlier) who have been actively looking for work that doesn't exist. Underemployment is as bad as unemployment, worse in some cases.
5) Also hate to break this to you, but implying that someone believes that little green men are the cause of all this or that they are lazy is pretty insulting.
6) Finally – Jon Stewart (like Beck, it isn't his real name), regardless of what you think of his political views (and anyone who watches knows that they aren't hardcore conservative) is funny. He and his crew have consistently pegged the silliness or hypocrisy of those who would 'inform' us. He has even mocked those viewers who rely upon his show for the news. This bit was funny, it was true (ever watch Beck?) and ranking about liberalism or conservatism isn't gonna help our situation.

I agree we all need more respect for each other. I agree there is now a growing anger in America. But, it's not just "Elephants and asses" (love that quip), it's everyone. We are all coming out of shock and beginning to realize there is a long road ahead and we believe we have a government filled with people that cannot be trusted. I really think we all need to go back to our 9th grade civics class lessons and go back to the basics of government. Kinda like how GM, Ford and Chrysler got so delusional because they kept promoting leaders from within. Ford finally got Mulally who has labored hard to try to save that bloated and sinking anchor. Now, GM has Mr. Whiteacre beginning real corrections. Yet, we the shareholders of America, keep "promoting the same leaders from within" and continue to expect a different result. when this country was started, congressmen were expected to serve two years and then return to their practice, their business, or there farm.

I pity you. 1) NO Air force or Navy has won any war. PERIOD. Wars are won by those brave infantry (oh look, I can spell) who take and hold the ground. Until there are 'boots on the ground' the ground isn't taken. That said, they do make it a hell of a lot easier and I for one thank God we have such strong support.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colber – both – comic genious. Glen Beck? I used to like (and enjoy) his radio program. Last couple of years, hes just been a sell out. Goes for the ratings, and says super controversial rhetoric to keep his ratings, the hype, and chat going on about him. He's doing a good job at. However, it then simply sets him in the ranks of Limbaugh, O'Reilly, or Mike Savage. Can you blame em.? Shock sells. Just like sex sells. So, as long as there is a market for the Glen Beck, Mike Savage, Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaughs of the world, it will go on and on. I listen and/or watch all of them – but, I have to thank Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart for taking what would otherwise be insane rantings and bring some humor into it. The folks who refuse to watch Stewart or Colbert – they have pretty closed minds. Nothing will change what they think, since they gather all their info from FOX and the Ditto Heads. They wouldn't dare take out the time to explore other TV/radio personalities. I can handle only so much of the rhetoric from the Becks and O'Reillys anymore (and I used to be a big 'fan' of those personalities…) I guess you get a little educated, do some of your own fact checking, throw in some humor, and you realize that folks like Beck and O'Reilly are all about making sure they keep the shock and scare tactics up, to ensure they keep building their base, viewship, and wealth. Let's just face some reality here folks. Nobody is going to convince the conservatives that Obama is anything but the spawn of satan, and nobody is going to convince the liberals that the war and the spending sprees can't be pinned on Bush for the next 70 years. Nothing is going to change. The left is going to move farther left, the right is going to move farther right, and the poor wishy washy in the middle are just going to curl up in a ball and disappear because they will not like either choice. I don't know what people were hoping for under the great promises of Hope and Change, and Unity, but I think it was all targeted for the young voting crowd who has never known a president that wasn't named Clinton or Bush. Its just sad that the whole county got taken down this road in the first place. The only question here is will the two parties both impode on themselves or will they take the country with it before they go. Government does things I despise, but be honest, they do help as well as harm. We may not like taxes but tell me how we'd get roads, police enforcement, schools, parks, bridges, relatively safe drugs, what would we have done to stop terrorists from attacking 9/11? And don't tell me the free market would magically make all those things appear. I get sick of the paranoia. Yes, passionately argue against things you believe are wrong, but don't say that all federal government is bad or good. Absolutes almost never exist.

Bear in mind that Congress really holds all of the power. As such, it is essential to vote for an honest and straight person. 99% of people in Congress are crooked. The idea of lobbying still sickens me; essentially, people are being payed off for a vote – and it is legal (to a great extent).
Also, just a FYI – the framers (look this term up if you do not know it) were ALL conservative. Beck, Limbaugh, & company are certainly puppets, but they have real American ideals just like our founding fathers.
This is great. I enjoy reading all these viewpoints and seeing the back and forth. Regardless of who is in power, some consistently say that the "sky is falling", "America is doomed" but the truth is we are all okay. WE ARE ALL OKAY. Media needs to sell drama otherwise nobody will watch.
Even if some of us have lost our jobs or loved ones, that is all a part of life and we continue on. Hope springs eternal. Perhaps it's better to focus on the positive in our lives than on what separates us. We are all Americans after all, that's what we do. We are known for being adaptable and generous. You have to love the mainstream (drive-by) media. Wow, I think Jon Stewart hit his Glenn Beck impersonation right on the head! Just watching Glenn Beck spew his preposterous propaganda to America makes me sick to my stomach every time I watch it. Its the most bias and absurd "news" cast I've ever seen. Stewart's impression of how Beck makes radical and ridiculously ambiguous connections to Hitler and other figures is 100% correct and it cracks me up. But to be honest, its actually really sad how scared and insecure he makes his audience feel by his erratic annotations.
I mean, telling them that, I quote , "when the system eventually collapses, and the government comes with guns and confiscates, you know, everything in your home and all your possessions, and then you fight off the raving mad cannibalistic crowds that Ted Turner talked about, don't come crying to me" is insane.
It's very troubling that some one who injects so much fear and hatred into society actually has an incredibly strong following. He's number one in news rating by quite a substantial amount! And to believe people are actually buying into his BS??? Its mind blowing! Simple minded people who watch his show are actually scared that one day the government is really going to come knock on your door and take all your posessions.

I know that people will attack me for posting this, because people are attacking everyone who has a differing opinion from them. But, reading these posts, I can't say with a clear conscience that it's the politicians who are screwing up this country. How can we expect laws to get passed or things to improve when we can't agree to disagree about whether or not we found a skit on a political satire show funny.
And I realize that none of us are lawmakers. But, if we resort to name-calling, mud-slinging, blowing up over typos, well, we get the politicians that best represent us. We're like third graders. If you lean more towards the Democratic side, apparently you're a tree-hugging liberal and a monkey. If you lean more to the Republican side, you're a gun-toting, uneducated freak. Now, about the issue at hand–Jon Stewart's impression of Glenn Beck. Both he and Glenn Beck are comedians. Jon Stewart is overtly a comedian, but I think Glenn Beck has some comedy experience. And, yes, both men want you to think the way they think. Neither man is a journalist. One got his start in stand-up (Jon Stewart) and the other is a commentator (not to be confused with a journalist). This skit in question is funny. I loved the sketch. But, I like Jon Stewart. I don't necessarily agree with him on certain issues, but I think he's smart and funny. There are things that I do agree with Glenn Beck about. I also find him smart and funny.
Now, I know people will post here, saying that I'm wishy-washy or my opinion is the worst thing they've ever read (or that I didn't give an opinion, and, therefore I'm the most ignorant person who ever got online.) But, I'm willing to pick my own opinions and listen to both sides of the debate. But, you guys aren't having a debate. You're having a name-calling contest. What? It shouldn't be about who claims to be more American. We are all Americans or at least US citizens, I'm guessing. If we believe in diversity we can at least agree that we all have the right to our own opinions. Just observing, but it seems the problems come from our current system of financing political campaigns. To get elected is so costly that candidates knuckle under to big money and their lobbyists in order to have a chance at winning. Then they're compromised and are obliged to vote in ways that aren't in the best interests of the citizens. I was a teacher in an American overseas school for 30 years and saw how elections can be handled in other democracies. In one place that'll be nameless, the candidate has to get a certain number of signatures to run. Those with the requisite signatures are allocated the same amount of funding and the same TV/ media time. Then the citizens have a first vote. Candidates who have the highest percentage of votes run in the final election and again are given equal time and funding. It seems to work…
If we could trust our government to do what's right for the citizens, we wouldn't be so upset and angry over who's in power at the moment. Seems like a lot of us are quite proud of our nationality, but have little trust in our own government no matter which party is in power. We are turning into an oligarchy instead of a democracy. The regular folks who go to work every day are kept scared, worried, defensive by news commentators who provide opinion and sensation rather than just giving the "facts" in a neutral way or interviewing both sides and leaving the listener to form an opinion. I always liked the BBC World Service news because it was presented dispassionately and seemed to be fair to both sides. When I listen to various network news programs here, I'm sure I'm not getting any unbiased truth. They all completely contradict each other so I don't know what's really going on.

Do you know what will bring about the end of America, the self proclaimed 'greatest country on earth'? Surprisingly it isn't democrats, nor is it republicans. Its both. If you look at all the 'shit-hole' countries around the world, they usually have one thing in common. They're poor, and everyone's fighting for power. The only reason the US hasn't faced the same fate, is because throughout history once the civil war was over, Americans have stood together against everyone else. They have had protests, yes, disagreed with their leaders, yes. Even killed JFK. But at the end of the day, Americans were still Americans and they felt a common bond at being a part of a great country. The arguments and debates and speeches that are happening now changes all that. Americans are no longer looking at each other as Americans. They're liberal hippies or conservative scum or socialist pigs or dictators or "racists".
You Americans should learn from history. The great nations of the past almost ALWAYS fell due to internal conflict. I guess it is an eventuality of being too powerful. Eventually, you run out of people to fight against and turn on each other. Stop repeating history. Sad will be the day when America is just another poor country with no central power, and every group fighting the other for control. Disagree, argue, debate…but take away all the hatred you feel for your countrymen. With hate, even if you're right…you're wrong. Don't start another civil war. If you truly do love your country, then don't ruin it by fighting each other. You can get your points and opinions across just fine without hating each other. True, we fight amongst ourselves viciously. But, as you pointed out, this has always been the case throughtout our history. Our passion and patriotism demand it, left or right, which is also why we will always put aside our differences and unite in times of disaster, and against any outside threat. We still stand for the same ideals and princpals that founded this country, that saved Europe during the World Wars, and that struggle today to make the world a better place by spending our blood and treasure in Afghanistan.
