Yesterday, the White House posted this photo on their official flickr stream of President Obama shaking hands with one of the most infamous party crashers of all time, Michaele Salahi, as her husband and potential partner in crime, Tareq stands off to the side. The Secret Service has begun a formal investigation into how the couple made their way into the event uninvited and according to a statement are “deeply concerned and embarrassed” about the security breach. Although the Salahis haven’t been charged with any crime, yet, they’re are being actively pursued by the Secret Service for questioning according to the Warren County Report.

Pharrell Williams Treads Old Ground

Pharrell Williams continues trying out new careers, designing another piece of furniture for Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin. Following last year’s “Perspective,” a chair resting on a man and woman’s legs in a unsubtle homage to sex, comes “The Tank.” Riding on plexiglass treads, the leather seat, upholstered in blue, black, white or pink, will be unveiled at Art Basel Miami next week to help generate some hype.

Artist Floats Urban Colony Concept

Mixing fantasy and reality, artist Sashi Masakatus paints urban outposts floating through deserted, desolated post-apocalyptic landscapes. Most often taking spherical shapes, these structures are composed of contemporary Japanese architecture imbued with a bit of sci-fi whimsy. But without any apparent explanation for their presence, viewers are forced to project their own anxieties into the works, on view at Masakatus’ latest exhibition, “De Facto Standard,” in Tokyo’s Mizuma Art Gallery.
