Angela Strassheim Shoots Bloody Mess

Using techniques she picked up with the Miami Forensic Imaging Bureau, photographer Angela Strassheim captures black and white bloodstains. After a violent incident at the college where she taught, the Manhattan-based photographer began researching crime scenes and convincing new residents, some oblivious to the unpeaceful past, to let her photograph their homes. Sprayed down with “Blue Star,” hidden spatters and streaks of blood are illuminated and captured through long exposure photographs which are now on view at Chelsea’s Marvelli Gallery.

Greek Plane Bombed

A Greek jetliner has been reportedly tagged by graffiti writers. In photos posted by oversharing graffiti writer REVOK, the words “Stay High” are seen painted along the aircraft’s wing where markings for Olympic Airlines have were covered up since the carrier shut down. Scarce on details, this news is all the more intriguing being reported by REVOK, one of the vandals who was shortchanged for his work on Marc Ecko’s Air Force One tag hoax.

Ad Creep Update is a regular feature on ANIMAL documenting the spreading epidemic of advertising media placement into every nook and cranny of your daily life. How Panasonic was able to pull this off dumbfounds me. But, apparently they actually did it. Saatchi & Saatchi erected these electrically hazardous ads (click gallery) in some Indonesian city to indelibly sell the need for its nose hair trimmer safety cutting system. From the press notes: “With thousands of sensory nerves fibers in the nostrils, trimming nose hairs can be as risky as cutting live wires.” Yeah, not quite, but point taken. Man Stabbed to Death for His Seat on D Train

On Saturday two men got into an argument over a seat on the D train in Midtown, so one of the two men whipped out a steak knife and stabbed the other man repeatedly to settle the argument, naturally. In the midst of the madness, one of the other passengers then pulled the emergency brake cord, causing the train to stall between the Rockefeller Center and 7th Avenue stops, trapping the other passengers inside the car with the knife-wielding crazy person while his victim died in a pool of his own blood. |NY Times|
