Tabloid Disappointed In Lack of Vandalism
The Daily News is very upset with graffiti writers for not bombing a public art piece that was recently installed in front of the Bronx River Art Center. Calling it a “tagger’s dream,” the tabloid pretty much encourages vandals to get out there and paint the plywood sculpture already. The artist who made it though, Diego Medina, is happy that no one has embellished his work and the curator for the art facility offers a questionable theory for why its been left pristine: “It has an element that is kind of edgy and hip hop, and that’s maybe why [the taggers] can relate to it as a work of art.” Ha! Sure. Or maybe they just haven’t gotten around to it yet. |NYDN|

Its very disappointing that just because something is displayed in the Bronx, its expected to be destroyed and gratified. The Bronx is no longer burning, its flourishing. Its time for the rest of the city to realize that.
