James Marshall aka Dalek Starts ‘War in Heaven’

Artist James Marshall, better known as Dalek, opened an exhibition at Jonathan Levine Gallery over the weekend. His second solo show with the Chelsea gallery, “And There Was War In Heaven” is another milestone in the North Carolina-based artist’s departure from a decade’s worth of street art symbology. Now completely devoid of the iconic Space Monkey character, Marshall’s paintings continue playing with new signature elements, creating colorfully stylized, kaleidoscopic compositions.
