The New York State Senate, one of the biggest collections of amoral scoundrels, charlatans, scallywags and reprobates in the history of modern civilization, just voted against a bill that would have made the “abomination” known as same-sex marriage legal in the state. Now that they’ve gotten that out of the way, the esteemed Senators all still have time left in the day to pick up suitcases of cash hidden in dumpsters before they stick their withered dongs into whatever reststop bathroom glory holes they frequent on their way home from the state capitol building.

I have to agree with Alex Balk at The Awl on this…I can’t believe this is still an issue in 2009. IN NEW YORK NO LESS! One day, our grandchildren will look upon all of us alive in this era and wonder, “What the fuck were they thinking.”

Today’s sad news reminds me of a couple of videos I’ve seen recently on the issue. Both of these have floated around a bit over the last few weeks, so you may have seen one or both of them, but if you haven’t, they’re definitely worth spending a few minutes on.

The first is the testimony of an 86 year-old WW II veteran with a gay son who asks, “What do you think I fought for at Omaha Beach?”

And the second just hilariously and brilliantly illustrates the hypocrisy of those who oppose gay rights…

And this one is also not to be missed.
